The Anchorage Association for Energy Economics (AAEE) Anchorage Chapter of the United States Association for Energy Economics (USAEE) was founded in 1980 to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, experiences and issues among professionals interested in energy economics. We are affiliated with the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE) and United States Association for Energy Economics.
The AAEE is a non-profit organization of business, government, academic, scientific, and other professionals that advances the understanding and application of economics across all facets of energy development and use, including theory, business, public policy and environmental considerations. The Chapter frequently sponsors talks and sometimes conferences on energy issues of relevance to their local members. The sole purpose of the organization is to educate the public on energy economic issues.
You are invited to become a member. Annual dues are $25. The Chapter sponsors an annual $1,000 scholarship for the best original research in energy economics by any college student in Alaska. The results of the research are presented in a special program each spring. All membership dues go toward the scholarship. Past scholarships have been partially sponsored with generous donations from ConocoPhillips.
There are many benefits from membership. Members will gain a broader understanding of energy economics, policy making and theory. Members are kept well informed by our publications and conferences on events within the energy industry and the challenges that lie ahead. Furthermore, membership provides you with the opportunity to network with energy professionals.
